How to start an argumentative essay?

Well, let’s imagine that you have chosen a topic for your essay. How should you start writing your argumentative essay?

The first part of the paper is known as the introduction paragraph that usually provides some background information related to the topic of your paper. In addition, it is required to understand the purpose of the essay. In this case, you should defend one of the arguments presented in the paper. While writing the introduction, you should not only think over the descriptive title but also catch the readers’ attention using rhetorical questions, statistics, or quotations. Another important element that should be used in the introductory paragraph is a successful thesis statement. A thesis statement is always placed at the end of the introduction paragraph.

Learn more about the main body

Main Body is the following part of an argumentative essay that attempts to make your audience agree with your thesis. In this part of the paper, you should prove the accuracy of your statement as well as refute the opposite point of view. All the body paragraphs may range in size, and evidently, they will contain different arguments. If you want to write a successful essay, provide at least three reasons that prove the accuracy of the opinion that you attempt to defend. Each of the reasons presented in body paragraphs is regarded as a topic sentence. The important thing that should be mentioned is the fact that all your arguments should be supported by some statistics and quotations taken from credible and reliable sources.

How to conclude an argumentative essay?

First of all, writing a good conclusion gives you another chance to persuade the audience to support your point of view. If you want to write a successful conclusion, take into account several tips mentioned below.

1. Summarize the most important points of the essay.

In this part of the paper, it is required to provide a detailed summary of a thesis statement and the main arguments mentioned in the body paragraphs.
